Monument Valley

Monument Valley is a breathtaking area of the Colorado Plateau that has breathtaking sandstone buttes and mesas. It was made famous by all of the Westerns filmed there since the 1930’s. When people think of the West in America – Monument Valley is what they think of.  When you’re there its hard to imagine the formations were created by erosion of the Rocky Mountains being deposited into sandstone.

To visit Monument Valley, you pay an entrance fee and you can drive along a dirt road. There are areas of the valley that you can only access by being on a tour. Make sure to stop by the visitors center and try some of the prickly pear

Each spring, National Park Service and National Park Foundation come together to celebrate the history of over 400 national parks in America! Whether your a hiker, camper, animal lover, or photographer, our Nation’s parks are for just everyone!
